Of 'windows', 'weeds' and tulips ^^ hehe

To mark the end of our 2nd academic year in dentistry and before we start full swing revision for finals in May, my housemates and I decided to go for a short vacation in Amsterdam. There's only one word to sum up the whole 4 days and 3 nights in this famous city: AWESOME! I would totally revisit this city again in the future. There's so much more to explore, if only the weather is a bit kinder. It was raining and gloomy except for one day when we were there. That one sunny day wasn't that warm either. So, my next trip to this city would definitely be in summer ^^

I am a bad story-teller. And tend to be a bit draggy at times. However, I still want to share my experience here. hehehe.. :P well, I guess the pictures will do just fine. Pictures speak a thousand words they say, right?

We had a craze of having 'photoshoot' for 'album cover' when we were in Keukenhof. And this picture below is just one of many that we took! hehe.. It's pretty common for an all girls trip, huh? Camwhoring every now and then and at every spot!

We stayed at Bicycle Hotel and this picture below was taken in our room (3-bed room). Guys and girls, I totally recommend this hotel. The room is nice and comes with breakfast! The breakfast was really good too. Gerald, the owner, is really a friendly Dutch guy. He made the atmosphere felt so homely. And last but not least, it's really, really affordable. A 3-bed room (non-ensuite) like ours cost only 60euros per night. The location is good too. It's not really in the central of Amsterdam but it's within walking distance to the museums area and most of tourist spots. Tram no 25 stops really in front of the hotel so going to the city is not a big problem.
The bed's really cosy. I love it!

Checking the weather forecast in planning your activities is definitely a wise idea. Knowing beforehand that there'll be only 1 sunny day during our 4days 3 nights trip, we decided to visit Keukenhof (the largest tulip garden in the whole world) on that day. The tulips were still in 'baby' stage when we visited the garden. Some are even still in 'bulb' stage. They were still really, really beautiful though. But undeniably, they'll look much much prettier when all of them bloom. That would be late April I think.
Awwww..these datuk and nenek made all 3 of us went, 'Awww soooo sweet!' Well, when we were there, there were a lot of 'golden aged' people visiting the garden. It seemed like we were the only 20s generation around. I guess when we are at their age later, we'll prefer something 'back-to-nature' activities like this too. When I looked at all these people, it made me want to be like them too. Getting old with the man I love, and still being in love with each other, even after all our hairs have turn grey.

Who doesn't know this? It's like a must 'photo-spot' in Amsterdam. This big Iamsterdam letters are located in Museumplein. It's like a square between 2 most famous museums in Amsterdam. Van Gogh and Rijks. We didn't realise that this area was so near to our hotel. On our first day, we took hours to reach this place. We even took the wrong turn, had a marvelous authentic Indonesian lunch, coffee breaks, and so much more along the way and wondered where the heck is this place. We had a proper map on the second day, and when we realised that this place was just within 10-15 mins walk from our hotel, we felt so stupid about the day before (=.=)""

Holland cheese. I'm not a fan of cheese..

Main shopping street.

Bicycle is the car in Amsterdam!

The tram..it was not so extensive though.

Another street. Took this picture from a cafe while waiting for the rain to stop. I had my moment of chocolate cake & black coffee indulgence while watching people. haha! I felt so delighted when doing that. I'm such a weirdo, huh?

Well, that's about it. Vacation's over and now it's the time to study! :)
